The American Chef, Dan Barber, publishes his book: “The Third plate", a reflection on the way Americans eat, proposing an alternative in food production taking as an example, among others, the agrocultural process of the Spanish Dehesa where the Spanish Iberian ham is produced.

Barber, who works as Director of the Education and Nutrition Council of Barack Obama President,  has written some articles on food and agricultural policy for the New York Times and Times Magazine.
This book proposal, for which Barber has been studying different alternative systems when producing food for several years, deals with the change of the American food concept to get a balanced diet.
